I've graduated from Otago University (NZ) with a BCom (finance econ). Work in the Finance industry since 2007 so only took me a year and a half to completely ruin the global market, pretty pleased with myself there! I don't know what I want to do with myself........

Its all over ... for now anyway.

I've decided to give poker a rest for a while. I had got sick of cash-games, so I moved to tournaments which was a refreshing break but after a while, its all the same. I'm over my honeymoon period and its just become a bit repeatitive.

Got an email today and I've been offered a job for next year, but a requirement is that I must pass my CFA(chartered financial anaylsis) level ones, and being in the last semester of my degree, I think I need to focus on my studies and the CFA exams.

Ive withdrawn the $275 (tidy $200 for a weeks work) into my Neteller account and that should be a welcome $400NZ once it arrives. Ive still got a bit in the Neteller acct, so if I get the itch to play, it shouldnt be too hard to deposit.

Another Day another tournament win :)

Today was a good day.

I played two tournaments - Top Dawggs Poker League $3 buy in event, and poker-bug league game $3 w/ rebuys/add-ons.

In the Top Dawgg tournament I was unlucky to bubble (4th in a 16 man field) when I went 4 handed i was at a 2000 vs 5000/5000/8000 chip disadvantage. I doubled up and could of taken out the short stack had I called with my K6s, although I thought he had A high and there was already one limper so I figured he probly had him covered. Unfortunately my correct move to place the short stack all in a few hands later turned on my when hit hit one of his cards on the turn. I busted when my AK failed to improve against 55.

I would have been upset about this had I not won the next tournament. It was a rebuy/addon event with $100 added with only 8 players, they all hung around until the rebuy/add-on period was over. I neither had to rebuy or add-on as I had 7900 chips (start with 1500), which was about 35% of the chips in play as there were 7 rebuys. Everyone else added-on. So now my chip stack was depleted to 24% of the chips in play. I did get lucky earlier on when my A10 raise from the SB, was called by the BB, flop came Q 10 6, I bet quite a bit and he went all in, (not a unfamiliar sight), I called to see I was up against a Q, but an A on the river saved my ass.

After the rebuy period was over, I was dealt AA UTG. I limped expecting a raise or an all-in and was happy when it came when someone made a 4x BB all-in, there was one caller and I went all-in, he called and I was up against 66 and KJs. Well the flop killed any dreams of them cracking my aces when it came down AAx. LOL.

I took out 4th place so I had a good 21000 vs 4500/5000 chip lead 3 handed. I played aggresively and then raised in the SB with Q 10, after the button folded. The BB went all-in and it was about half of what I had already put in, im hoping for 2 live cards so I call. He shows A5 dia. The flop if 10 10 Q. Lol

Heads up only lasts a few hands when I call his all in with KJ clubs, Im up against an A3 so im slightly behind but I hit one of them on the turn and scoop up a nice little prize purse, especially for only the $3+0.3 buy-in

Masala Vs Betty Team Shoot-out

Big-ups to team NZ for their outstanding effort in the first outing for the team.

On another note, how did it go you ask? great, 1st out 14 for a nice $35 payout. The best moment came when I was at the final table with 1100 chips and one guy went all in for 1280, I had 55 so I called, he had made all ins for a few times so I figured it was worth the gamble as the blinds were 100/200 and if I didnt make a stand here I was gonna get eaten away. Another called so it was AJ vs 55 vs A 10, flop was low, turn was safe and river was a 5 so I tripled up and that put me in a safe position.

Played a really nice disciplined game, stole a few blinds, but also knew when to just play it safe.

Anyway this is a nice addition to the bankroll. Im in the black for tournaments, heads up and 6 man SnG after a win in the turbo room last night. A little bit in the red for 10 man SnG's. Overall up $50 since deposit.

Here is the final hand of my heads up, i enjoyed playing, I had him down to 400 but he doubled up and I was just ahead when this happened, I call it not over playing the nuts.

Bankroll

3/8/06

Holdem Bonus League: $2+0.2 w/ rebuys/add ons

This one had $50 added and only 6 players!! one was a sit out too. First ever rebuy tourney i've played and can't say i'm a fan.

I got lucky early when my AJ s clubs found Kc Ad 7c on the flop, ran into KK though, but river brought a welcome club.

I was doing real well until I limped my A 10, and the guy went all in, as expected, I called and he showed A6, flop was 6 A 5, turn 5, 9. So that took half my stack.

I was busted later on calling 76s vs A10u, didnt hit and I rebought once to see if I could double up early because the payouts were like $50 and $20 so I thought it was worth a look, busted out when my AK went down to J10 after he hit a 10.

Im in the Dawggs Holdem League game and might go crazy in the other freeroll im in because only 1st pl pays.

UPDATE
Dawggs busted out a little early, lost a couple of pots early and managed to double up back to just below starting level when my K 10 hit trips. Lost later, cant remember details,

Freeroll Connection
34/34 LOL, This was a tournament that only paid 1st place so I decided to go all in with my 99, called by AQ, lost that coin flip.

Didnt play the $200 guaranteed as my computer ran into some problems just before I was going to register bout 5 mins before start, couldnt find the problem in time, so had to skip that, probly best anyway.

Managed to have a slightly + day due to heads up, played one SnG and busted 5th. Playing one more 6 man before calling it a night.

Today Tournies

$2+0.2 $200 Guaranteed 65 Players
Didnt get any cards and table was playing aggressive. When dealt QQ I made a smallish raise and folded all the way around. Took down a few small pots. Was sick of being short stacked so move in on a smallish raise with 44, he called and showed 10 10, I hit a 4 on the river but that was irrelevant as he had also hit his set on the flop. Played a $5 heads up and beat an all in donkey when I had a 1200-800 lead, blinds 50-100, he called, A10, I raise to 250, as expected all in, I call, hes got Q4 hit a 10 on the flop, no Q to save him. He says gg, I say it back although it was terrible donk all in play by him all the time lol.

$3+0.3 Tournament 68 Players
Came 15th ... again! I hate getting down to the last 20 and hands just dont go your way. I'm still getting experience in playing these tournaments so I'm happy with my play so far. Might try the $200 guaranteed tonight as well.

$2+0.2 6 man SnG - 3rd grr
Bubbled, played well, good play, struggled early, happy with my play

$5+0.25 Heads up
2nd

$10+0.5 Heads up
Won it

$2+0.2 10 man SnG - 10th
lol after nice start my AK on a xAx (one club) ran into a runner runner flush after he hit nothing on the flop and I raised him 4x his bet on the flop, but some people will never play sanely, better 10th than 4th imo

$5+0.25 Heads Up
2nd, this guy was a donk and I have him tagged for heads up because he raises everything preflop, Unfortunately my K5 hit two pair and he stuck around to hit his runner runner flush (sound fimiliar??)

$10+0.5 Heads Up
After he did well to call a strong bluff play by me, I fought back from 300 chips to dominate him, he was probly too tight, folding him small blind consistently, I enjoyed this because of the comeback and the quality of play.

200 Guaranteed

Was 10th with 20 left sitting on 3300

Dealt 10 10 in EP raise 3x BB to 600 after one limper. One other to the flop.

He raises my 1/2 pot size bet on flop of 6 A 9, pretty sure he had an A so I lay it down

Out 15th ...
Probly in 13/15 left 2700 chips. EP dealt AQ s spades BB is 300, raise to 750, chipleader puts me all in, I think I have to call, he shows 66, Flop comes 7di Qc Kdi, so ive pretty much snatched it until turn and river come 4di 5di to give him a flush. Winning that woulda pushed me to 7th too.

Oh Well theres always tomorrow. Very happy with my play although I went card cold at the wrong end.

New Plan

Ive put some money back into my account at poker.com but kanyezee is now becoming a tournament player!!!

I only deposited $75, and am only going to play $2 tournaments and sit n goes.

My first day has been somewhat of a success.

Goldfish room - $2 6 man
After becoming short stacked down to 600 after calling an all in with nut flush draw on the flop, which didnt come, battled back, showed one bluff of raising preflop with 27os, 3 handed, next hand same raise but I had KK! thats a few chips there a one more down. Heads up I got a nice lead on him and flop 2 pair and get him to bet away his chips for the win $8.40

Dolphin room - $2 10 man
I came 3rd in this one, short stacked after 4th place was under heat with stack of 1170, he had to put 500 in for BB and one guy raises to 1000, I have A 10 c so I call, BB all in for 170 more we both call that, check the J 9 9 flop he bets on the 6 turn so im hoping hes got something, happy when he shows 66 for a full house, double up to 2200 when my A 10 hits a 10 on the flop, but busted in 3rd after my BB A3 is cracked by K2 when he rivers a K high str8.

$200 Guaranteed - $2 70 players
Currently 5th with 40 left - 3215 chips
Highlights KK raise preflop, one caller flop 5 5 8, me pot size, him raise, all in, called, shows 10 10, turn and river are blanks. Other than that just picking up small pots here and there.
