I've graduated from Otago University (NZ) with a BCom (finance econ). Work in the Finance industry since 2007 so only took me a year and a half to completely ruin the global market, pretty pleased with myself there! I don't know what I want to do with myself........

Welcome to kanyezee's poker blog

Hello, this will be short and sweet.

The main goal of this blog is to keep you informed of my poker happenings at poker.com where I play regularly.

I have played for real money at poker.com since January 06 and have had a good times/bad times relationship.

I initially deposited US$200 to maximise on the initial depositors bonus (where they match your deposit dollar for dollar as you earn "comp points", playing for real money.

I had done really well, after winning a private freeroll hosted fishbowlpokerclub.com, which unfortunately has vanished to thin air, and I know no nothing about its existence or whatever happened to the fishbowl. There were only 18 players but it felt good and the $25 from winning gave me a lot of confidence and a little breathing room from my breakeven point.

After a while my bankroll at poker.com was up to around $500 before I headed off to Australia for a holiday before heading to Dunedin, NZ for my final year at Otago University.

I got into the bad habit of entering tournaments (usually $5/$10 entry fee) and playing blackjack to get back what I had paid in fees. This went very well for a while until I got a thrist for just blackjack itself. My bankroll at this stage had built itself nicely up to $1500.

Late one night before going to bed I decided to play a lil blackjack just earn $20 or something before calling it a night... BAD MOVE. My little method of betting $5 and if I won great $5, if I lost I would bet $10, if I won that great $5 profit, but if you lose it becomes $20, $40, $80. I had been up to $80 in the past and I tell ya the shakes you get after being down but then getting it back again are adrenline rushes. Anyway at poker.com the maximum you can bet is $100 so once you lose the $80 one you cant use your little double the bet method, long story short my $1500 soon became somewhere around $400, I stopped for a while but then went back and I was back up to $1350. Since then I rarely play blackjack although now and then i do, but it thought me a valuable lesson that night.

Anyway thats enough for now I will add more in the near future including the rest of my career at poker.com and my casino experiences in Australia and the local pub tournament victory!!!

Blog more soon

Dude, stay away from Blackjack. That's all luck.

It is far too easy to lose $155 that way by losing five hands in a row, and that happens all to often.

Stick with Poker, or otherwise your poker winnings will be lost on Blackjack. I salute you cahunays though.
